Collection of "The Year of Love" 2015
Each of us has at least once thought about the meaning of love. Is it happiness, mystery, art? Perhaps, it is quite difficult to enumerate all the components of this feeling, as well as it is uneasy to experience it. In her new collection of paintings Natalia Lvova says exactly the following, “One of my loved ones has once told me that love is a daily work. You should never stop working.” His simple words struck me to the heart. Since then they have never stopped sounding, even for a minute. The collection “The Year of Love” is my story about the work named “Love.”
The audience will not see here a usual canvas and an expected order of elements: the artist uses planks that the future owner of the painting is free to rearrange as he would like to, because each person has his own composition of love mosaic. Planks have become an embodiment of the creative foundation for a feeling. We build relationships just in the way the house is built. “Only we can make a family as an unbreakable fortress,” says Natalia. She emphasizes that there is no ideal or the only correct positioning of planks: the painting may change depending on what a person, an owner of this painting, is experiencing at the moment. Then the depicted feeling becomes alive. Love is as natural as nature. It similarly has its own seasons and is subject to the elements: the blossoming season is replaced by the heat of passion which may gradually fade like a gentle September wind in anticipation of the white silence of winter. Then everything is repeated again and again. The artist thinks that division of life into white and dark stripes is not only boring, but also wrong. So, the colors in her works are chosen not by chance. Natalia hastens to remind us all that the most important feeling has many faces and incarnations: “Living in love is different: gentle and caring, sharp and jealous, merciful and forgiving, heavy and sorrowful, happy and joyful. Our sensations change in each new period. The main thing for these changes is to continue working to strengthen the family and relationships.
Natalia’s paintings do not just talk to the audience, but also help them to literally look at themselves. The mirrored mosaic, complementing the works, helps a person see his eyes, his emotions and his soul. After all, the only way of looking deep can help us understand what we need to improve in the character, habits and outlook. Changes in life help the flame flare up with renewed vigor, nourishing love.
Talking about love can be infinite, but all languages of the world cannot express its perfect completeness. Maybe instead of words we had better direct our view not only outside, but also inside, connect the opposite, pacifying the storm and basking in the warm rays of happiness? “Life is a movement, and love is a daily work. Let us move forward and work hard!” admonishes Natalia Lvova. It is difficult not to agree, looking at her amazing works.
