Collection of "Virtue" 2015
All people are aware of virtue, but can they call themselves virtuous? If they say "yes", are they mistaken? Or is it just a moment of pride? The collection "Virtue" is the artist's attempt to convey an idea of human imperfection. At the same time, it is a call to action. We are not perfect, but we should strive to be virtuous. Most likely we will fail and never master it. Perfection is not an aspect of virtue, but that is not a reason to give up. Day after day, act after act, and decision after decision, we must be kind, compassionate, loving, mindful, fair, honest, and pure.
We have no idea what abstract words like wisdom, courage, and fidelity look like. We know how they are written. Saying these words aloud has the ability to trigger certain images or situations, though many times we fail to find any exact symbol or color. In this work, I have made an attempt to imagine what the shape and color these virtues could possess.
